The Hawaii Daijingu Kyodan was founded in the 36th year of Meiji (1903) on Ala Lane. In September of the 7th year of Taisho (1918) it moved to 1517 Liliha Street. On February 26, 1920 it obtained sanction by the government of Hawaii as a religious body.
